How far along? 34 weeks, 3 days
Maternity clothes? Yes
Stretch marks? No
Sleep: Some nights are better than others, but it’s getting harder and harder to get a good nights sleep!
Best moment this week: We did have an unplanned ultrasound the other day, it’s pretty neat to see when we are so far along and we have a pretty good idea of his weight!
Miss anything? Sleeping on my stomach, lunch meat, pop
Movement: Lots! And he gets the hiccups at least twice a day.
Food cravings: Steak, fish, and lots and lots of sweets! CHIPOTLE! And I keep thinking of this salad from a placed called Urban Grille.
Anything making you queasy or sick: You know, I think I can finally say no to this question!
Have you started to show yet: Yes!
Gender: BOY! Little Man, as I like to call him. πŸ™‚
Labor Signs: No thank goodness, but I get Braxton hicks several times a day!
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On….slowly getting more and more swollen in my fingers and ankles but still wearing my rings!
Happy or Moody most of the time: Both.
Looking forward to: Just getting to the full term mark in a few weeks!

So every week when I put weight and inches on the chalk board I use the Baby Center application which gives an estimate on those things. However, this week we had an impromptu ultrasound (don’t worry everything is great) but they are able to tell the weight by measurements of the head and stomach. Now, it isn’t exact but it’s a better idea than a website. Since all babies start gaining weight differently at this stage it’s fun to see how big he is. According to the ultrasound tech he is 5 pounds and around 3 ounces! He should gain about half a pound a week now, so we could have an 8 pound baby when it’s all said and done. Which is exciting! So that is neat to know.

Anyways, we feel like we are in the final countdown. And I know everyone says the last few weeks go by so slow but we are ready! Our bags are packed, the carseat is installed, freezer meals are ready, we have all the “necessities.” However, I think Curt and I vary on what is a necessity or not haha, so we still have several things I think we can get that I consider a necessity…… πŸ™‚

Anyways, we are ready but know he needs to “cook” a little longer, which is good!

Boy or Girl?!

So first, let me show you my 21 week picture and update:

Looking forward to: Finding out the gender!!!

Now, before we got pregnant and through out most of my pregnancy so far I was pretty adamant about not finding out the gender. Curt is more practical and has always wanted to find out but I always told him this is the one true surprise left in this world let’s keep it that way….fast forward to 20 some odd weeks later and to our BIG ultrasound where many find out the gender and I’m changing my tune. I don’t know why….we got closer and closer to this appointment and the more excited I became! I really, REALLY want to know! So at lunch we decide that we will have the tech write it down in a sealed envelope. And here it is…..

The envelope that holds the knowledge of if we will be welcoming Baby Girl Aucutt or Baby Boy Aucutt in 4 months….what to do?!

I would love to find out and we can buy clothes for him or her and we can start using the name we chose (just when we are alone). But I also feel like we might as well just wait. Oh the temptation to know! I’m still fairly confident baby is a boy…and even more so after this appointment but we won’t on know until we open that envelope or wait until he or she decides to come out.

I think we may wait and find out on our anniversary which is November 13. Just a few short weeks away! And then we can tell family and friends in a special way around Thanksgiving.

So tell me, did you find out the sex or did you wait and why? I’m torn and also very excited! πŸ™‚

Half Way There!!!

Monday Musings will have to take a backseat today so I can share my 20 Week Update! I can’t believe I’m half way there! Next week, we have what will hopefully be our last ultrasound. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE having ultrasounds, but if everything looks good they shouldn’t need to have another one. So let’s hope for a good one!! I’m very excited to see how much Baby A. has grown since our last one at 13 weeks.

How far along? 20 weeks, 2 days. Half Way there! Woohoo!
Maternity clothes? Yes,
Stretch marks? No
Sleep: I wake up often. I usually wake up every night around 2am or 3am and I’m wide awake for about an hour or longer.
Best moment this week: feeling the baby move more
Miss Anything?lots….gluten food mainly
Movement: Yep! πŸ™‚ Especially when I’m hungry, which is like every 45 minutes….Feed me mommy, that’s what I think he/she is saying!
Food cravings: Sweets, pancakes, muffins, Β anything but protein
Anything making you queasy or sick: Still cottage cheese, raisins, string cheese
Have you started to show yet: You tell me. πŸ™‚
Gender: we aren’t going to find out, for the longest time I thought boy, but now I’m leaning towards girl. I think I’m leaning towards a girl now because ALL our books reference baby as a she, and the movements are so light nothing like I expected, almost dainty haha. I’m sure they will get stronger, and if we do have a boy please forgive me for the dainty comment. πŸ™‚
Labor Signs: No
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Moody….Happy…Both.
Looking forward to: our first baby class this week, and feeling baby move and get stronger.
